Tribute to Lion Bob Nice

It is with great sadness that Teulada Moraira Lions announce the death of Lion Bob Nice.

Lion Bob known to his fellow Lions as ‘Bob the Builder’, due to his enthusiasm in organising working parties to help those in need, such as the Emaus children’s homes. Along with his wife Linda, Bob was a moving force in forming the Friends of Emaus, who raise funds to support the homes in Calpe and Benissa.

Before moving to Spain Bob was very active in supporting a number of organisations that helped handicapped children. In his position with Ratcliffe Ltd he was able to arrange the fitting of tail lifts to Sunshine coaches donated by the Variety Club of Great Britain.

Although Bob was aware he had a heart problem it did not deter him from being involved with many activities within the Lions, acting as Almoner, membership secretary and a leading member of the Welfare committee.

Bob leaves a loving wife, son, daughter and grandchildren, our thoughts and condolences are with them.

"Following the recent death of Lion Bob Nice Teulada Moraira Lions Club decided to set up a project in memory of Bob which will be known as Bobby's Bus. This project is to donate  € 10,000.00 during the current Presidential Year towards the cost of a Special Needs/Ambulance Vehicle being purchased by the Ayuntamiento of Teulada Moraira. This vehicle will be available to everyone within the area and will help fill an important social need and be a fitting tribute to our friend and colleague"
